Sarah Burger is the most recent associate to join Shelowitz, Shelowitz, Terrell & Coffey, P.A. Prior to joining this firm, Sarah was an Associate at Zakheim & Associates, in Plantation, Florida, which is one of the largest creditor's rights firms in the state of Florida . There, Sarah focused solely on creditor's rights representing National Banks as well as large secondary debt buyers. Since this area of law is extremely voluminous, Sarah was quickly given the opportunity to begin litigating cases appearing both personally in court and telephonically throughout the state. In addition to appearing in court, Sarah actively participated in countless mediations and depositions in aid of execution. At Shelowitz, Shelowitz, Terrell & Coffey, P.A., Sarah is currently focusing her practice on Family Law where she will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects. Sarah's experience includes becoming a certified legal intern in family law before graduating from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center in 2006. Additionally, Sarah litigated cases in front of General Magistrates all relating to Adult Protective Services, Chapter 415 of Florida Statutes. It was due to her certification as an intern from Florida 's Supreme Court that enabled her to argue cases prior to becoming a licensed attorney. Sarah was born and raised in Miami, Florida . After graduating high school, Sarah attended the University of Florida , where she graduated cum laude in 2003. At Florida , Sarah was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority as well as a volunteer softball coach with The Boys and Girls Club. Prior to graduating, Sarah also worked at the University of Miami 's Athletic Association where she worked in the daily operations department of the athletic program. This internship provided Sarah with the opportunity of organizing the Miami Hurricanes football team's annual spring game as well as coordinating all travel arrangements for the baseball, cross-country and basketball teams. Sarah graduated from the College of Health and Human Performance with a major in Sports Management and minor in Business Administration.
