Marc graduated, on the Dean's List, with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Miami in 1989. Prior to entering law school, Marc worked as a paralegal at the Offices of the State Attorney, Child Support Enforcement Division, in Dade County, Florida. His responsibilities included establishing and enforcing child support orders against absent parents, throughout the United States. Marc obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University in 1994. Following law school, Marc worked as an attorney with Legal Aid Service of Broward County, assisting the indigent with issues of domestic violence, divorce and custody. Further, focusing on the issue of domestic violence Marc educated attorneys on how to conduct hearings on domestic violence injunctions; assisted law enforcement in the laws and rights of victims of violence; spoke at seminars and training workshops for professionals who deal with victims of domestic violence; wrote and presented articles for the Governor's Task Force on Domestic and Sexual Violence, including, "Dating Violence: Working Towards Implementing Changes to the Domestic Violence Statutes, " and "A Legal Prospective on the Failure of Florida's Domestic Violence Statute to Accommodate and Protect Florida's Youth and/or Adults in Dating Relationships. " Moreover, Marc spoke at the Light Up and Remember Candlelight Vigil, sponsored by the Broward Victim's Rights Coalition. Further, he assisted the School Board of Broward County by giving testimony at the Family Violence Child Abuse Update. Finally, Marc provided legal advocacy and outreach for Women in Distress, Inc. Marc is a member of the Florida, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the New York Bar. Further, he is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association. Moreover, he served as an executive officer and is a member of the Broward County Domestic Violence Council; served as a member of the Ad Hoc School Board Committee on Domestic Violence; served on the Subcommittee for Teen and Dating Violence; and served on the Steering Committee of the Governor's Task Force on Domestic and Sexual Violence. In 1997, Marc opened his own practice focusing on family law and continuing his advocacy against domestic violence. He represents clients with contested or uncontested divorce, custody, alimony, pre and post-nuptial agreements, support enforcement, support modifications, paternity, adoption, name changes, guardianship, wills and domestic/repeat violence restraining orders.
