Andrea graduated in the top 10% of her class from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 1993. Thereafter, she entered law school at Nova Southeastern University, and obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1996. During law school, Andrea became a member of the Law Review, Moot Court and American Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, she was a winner in the Ken Raab Memorial Intramural Trial Competition.

Following law school, Andrea joined the Broward County Public Defender's Office, and tried over one hundred bench and jury trials. During her practice in the juvenile courts, the Public Defender awarded her as Juvenile Attorney of the Year. As a Public Defender, Andrea represented clients charged with both misdemeanors and major felonies. Including sitting second chair, for a high profile, televised, murder trial.

After gaining great litigation experience, Andrea opened her own firm. Shortly thereafter she joined her husband, Marc Shelowitz, and then added her trial partner, Ty Terrell to the firm. Together, these lawyers make a powerful and talented team.

Andrea enjoys playing an active role in the community. She is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, and the Inns of Court, a prestigious organization, with the goal of promoting ethical practices among attorneys. Further, Andrea often speaks to local school children, advising them on the law and how to become educated, as well as successful.

Although Andrea focuses her practice on criminal law, it is only the beginning of her talents. Andrea assists her clients with a variety of civil matters including breaches of contract, corporations, small claims, defending causes of action, and assisting with cases on appeal, one of which becomes a published opinion and part of Florida law.

Andrea Shelowitz's success comes from her vast experience and knowledge of the law, as well as her ability to communicate effectively and work well with clients. Further, she displays great confidence in the courtroom, and her abilities in research and writing provide clients with excellent representation. Moreover, she places great emphasis on giving all her clients personal attention and works hard to meet all of their legal needs.
